Ref; The Mass and parish activities of Machida Church In and after Oct 2021

As you may be aware that the Declaration of a State of Emergency of Tokyo has been lifted as of end of Sept and the public Masses have resumed in the Tokyo Archdiocese in Oct. We celebrated the Rift of Confirmation on Oct 3 and the public Mass grouped by the residential area have been re-opened from last week in Machida Church.

 

Today, we are pleased to announce you about a new grouping of the public Masses and the forthcoming church activities.

 

1.    Grouping of Mass

Effective from next week, the grouping of weekend Mass will be as follows;

EMass on Saturday (18:30~) and the1st Mass on Sunday (7:30~) are attendable regardless of the grouping.

  EThe 2nd Mass on Sunday (10:30~) is for either gblock 1 through 5h or gblock 6-1 through 9h (Please refer to the attached Mass schedule according to residential area).

¦    The weekday Mass on Friday (10:00~) is attendable regardless of grouping.

The new grouping of this may cause the number of Mass attendee increase. The accommodation capacity of the chapel including the annexed oratory (small chapel) is 150 people at most. If the attendee is more than that, the 1st floor parishioners hall will be used. The total accommodation capacity of the church amounts to 220 people.

 

2.    Forthcoming church activities

‡@    Oct 31 (Sun) 15:00~ Longevity Thanksgiving Mass

A Longevity Thanksgiving Mass will be held for senior parishioners (no age limitation, over or under). No reservation is needed. There is no tea party after the Mass. The Sacrament of Anointing the Sick is receivable in the Mass.

 

‡A    Oct 6 (Sat) 18:30, Oct 7 (Sun) 7:30, 10:30 and 14:00 Joint Memorial Mass

We will celebrate joint memorial Masses four times at the above dates and hours for brothers and sisters who have formerly ascended to heaven. If you wish to pay a tribute to your loved ones, please write the name (s) of the dead in a tribute request form, prepared and placed at the entrance of the chapel, and put it in the nearby box. He or she will properly be paid a tribute in the Mass. The Memorial Masses are attendable regardless of the grouping.  

 

‡B    Nov 14 (Sun) 10:30 First Eucharist

The Mass celebrates those who receive the first Eucharist.

 

‡C    Nov 21 (Sun) 10:30 Shichigosan = Shichi(7)-go(5)-san(3)

The Mass celebrates the growth of children; 3 and 5 year-old boys, and 3 and 7 year-old girls.

If you wish you children of these ages be celebrated, please fill out a request form and pass it to the pastor.

Those who missed to celebrate his or her children last year, please enroll this year.

 

3.    Others (Church Activities and Educational Programs)

EBible Class (Fri, after 10:00 Mass): Presently closed. Will make announcement when to restart.

EIntroductory Class (Sat, 10:00~): Open every week now. (However, the class on Oct 30 will be closed.)

 

 

It is most advisable that the number of COVID 19 infection people has recently been declining, however, we must ask you for your further cooperation in self-measurement of temperature before leaving home, wearing a mask, disinfection of fingers, restraining from long hour chatting, etc.
